Last night, after a long illness, my dear cousin Eve passed away. She was a wonderful woman and supported me when I 'came out' to my family and friends. Here she was with my mum outside 'The Shroppie Fly' pub a few years ago. They were very close and shared their interest in completing crosswords.

Taking it relatively easy today. At around 11am my blood sugars dropped to 3.4, which is alarming. But I was able to get it back up again after taking some glucose lozenges. I've just taken the laptop onto the patio to see if I can see it in the sunshine. I'm pleased that if I fold the screen forward to create shade, then I can see it - not brilliantly, but enough. But the laptop's getting really hot (it's black), so I'm going to stop now and wind the canopy down.
That's better. We're all in the shade now, apart from Lottie who's on the lawn, soaking up the sun. However, the patio gate has blown closed, so I'm going to have to prop it open somehow. All done - and I've brought my phones out to keep by my side.
I've run out of 'Vuse' vaping liquid and am slowly going up the wall, so I've returned to using nicotine chewing gum.
Yesterday I did some research matching material to publications - with some success. I send a submission inquiry to Church Times and another to Dogs Today. Today, I'm going to do some more 'mixing & matching'!

Photographer and Project
It's been a busy week. I've been researching material and magazines for my writing for magazines.
I also 'advertised' for an ambitious amateur photographer to provide images for my articles. I was approached by a talented photographer, Tony Brice, from Maidenhead Camera Club. I'll soon be uploading examples of his work on a web page on my website. This will be the address: www.richardhill.co.uk/tonybrice
Our first project will be the Thames Traditional Boat Rally in Henley in mid-July.

Saturday 20th May
I've been busy creating material to appeal to an aspiring amateur photographer to work collaboratively with on non-fiction magazine articles. I've created a flyer, a poster, and a web page, which can be viewed at www.richardhill.co.uk/photographer .
If you know of anyone who fits the bill, send them to that web page.

Wednesday 17th May
I'm working late into the night. I'm searching for a short course in 'Writing for Magazines' and have found one with 'City Lit'. If I qualify for the concessionary rate, I'll enroll.
In regard to my posting yesterday, I'm delighted that I can take a 'study break' until October. It's a huge relief. I was so stressed when I got into difficulties due to my ill health. I'll be contacting Student Support later today.
Tuesday 16th May.
I had a tutorial today. I'd been worried about falling behind with my studies due to my recent spate of 'illness'. However, my tutor suggested that I take a 'study break' and rejoin another group in October. That was a massive relief as I've been worried about being 3 or so weeks behind and concerned about trying to catch up. And I don't have to 'redo' Block 1. I can bank my TMA's 01 & 02. Panic over!
