Recycling!
Today I've been researching facts and images for an article that I intend to submit to 'Waterways World' magazine. I wrote such an article for 'Canal and Riverboat' magazine in 1996. But this article will include more facts and figures that I've come across nowadays. 'Canal and Riverboat' magazine is no longer in print, hence my submission to 'Waterways World' magazine. My original article can be viewed here: http://richardhill.co.uk/shroppie.pdf.

Not only dog magazines!
I've decided to spread out! I've written a lot about dogs, but no other pets. So, it's time to do something about that. I've recently had an article in Dogs Today magazine about 'Does your dog make you happy?' Well, I've realized that this article can act as a template for an article 'Does your pet make you happy?' All it needs is some more research into what the 'experts' and pet owners have to say. Below is my 'pitch' to the editor of Pet magazine...

Breathe again!
I finished and submitted my article on the 'Cinnamon Trust' today. I also began to research material for my article about 'Dogs in Flight'.
This evening I edited and submitted my article 'Does your dog make you happy?' to Breathe magazine.
Dogs in Flight
Hi folks,
I'm now researching material for an article on dogs being carried in aeroplanes. There are some real horror stories out there. If you have any bad or sad stories to tell, please email me at sloughwriter@gmail.com Thanks.

Early Monday Morning.
It's 04.49 and time to get some writing done. But there's a snag. In order to write my feature on 'The Cinnamon Trust', I have to wait for some of the volunteers to email me. I have a full interview transcribed from the PR officer of CT. More on that later.
I'm sneaking around the net for some inspiration. More later...
BTW: Ignore the time on the postings on this blog software. It's US time.
Sunday
The week's gone so quickly! I've produced 'mini' websites and uploaded them. I may have already posted these links before, but here they are in case I haven't:
- Talks & Presentations: http://richardhill.co.uk/talks/
- Information & Resources: http://richardhill.co.uk/respect/
- I've also written and formatted a 4-page handout. It will soon be uploaded to: http://richardhill.co.uk/handout01.pdf
I'm trying to prepare carefully to make my 'Writing for Magazines' workshop for Slough Writers group as entertaining and educational as possible.
Wish me luck!
